Vacation begins

Thursday, June 9th, 2016

I survived the final week of work prior to vacation. I tried to follow my survival guide the best that I could. I even went to bed last night at 8 pm, so that I could be at my office at 6 am and have a good nights sleep beforehand. It worked! I was able to get everything tied up, put away, or handed off for someone to handle while I'm away - because this vacation will be strictly vacation - no work!

So this post is sporadic thoughts I wanted to mention, forgive me if it doesn't flow.

My daughter, son & I are flying to Paris tomorrow. My son is actually going for work, but will be spending a little time with us before he heads to his work apartment. He's also staying in Europe for another month after we leave, to do some traveling.

I won't be around to post anything for the next 12 days, but I will do my best to post the week after we get back. If you're interested in seeing posts about my trip, you can follow me on;

I am thrilled to be taking this trip with my daughter. We are super close so this is an amazing journey for us to go on and will be a great memory for both of us when she moves into her own life in the next couple of years. She's 21 now, but thankfully in no hurry to leave home while she's in college.

Of course, I've had people comment to me about the dangers of going to Europe at this time, and fortunately for me I'm not a worrier. One gift I have is complete faith. I always know that I'm exactly where I'm supposed to be at all times and that things will be exactly the way they should be. When my day comes, I can't hide from God, nor do I want to. In the meantime, I will enjoy this life.

I will be on vacation for my birthday. My daughter and son are excited to spend my birthday with me in Paris. Unfortunately that means my husband, who is staying home will miss it, but he gave me my gifts today - one of which was a new Fitbit Alta. I am loving it already. I wanted the new one because it's so much cuter than my old one, as it looks more like a bracelet. I can't wait to track my steps all over France.

Au revoir.

There are only 24 hours in a day!

I've learned that I can only do so much. My business is booming, my marriage is flourishing, my personal health and fitness goals are in tip-top shape, but there is so much more going on in life. Spending time with family, spending time with friends, working on projects inside and outside of the house. Life gets completely crazy at times and it feels like the list of things to do, places to be, people to see never ends. The result: some things get put on the back burner. Like blogging. It's something I do to keep track of what I'm doing, where I am on my goals, and hopefully to motivate a few people at the same time. Here's where I'm at; Business: I am still out there networking, I have made so many new friends and am building great relationships.  I am still working on single-tasking. I KNOW that it's the key to getting things done for me. However, I still have my days where I am so busy that I lapse back into my habit of multi-tasking. I do realiz...

Building Self-Discipline; Step 1

So how do we build self-discipline? First we figure out where we need self-discipline in our life. What are the areas in your life that you are struggling with? These are usually things you want to do, but for some reason you don't do them. Here are some ideas. Exercising, cooking meals, laundry, networking, de-cluttering, organizing your desk at work, yoga, meditation... the list could go on and on. Think about your list for a minute. Now, write down 2 or 3 things that you know you want to do, but keep putting off. These are things that you know would make an impact in your life. Now, next to each item, write down why you're not doing them AND why you want to do them. # selfdiscipline # lifehack # gettingstuffdone # liveyourbestlife  #jimrohnquote MW Copyright 2017

How would self discipline benefit you?

Picture your life a year from now if you actually accomplished the things on your list. How would this benefit your life? Seriously, just stop, close your eyes and imagine a year from now. For the past year you have ______. (Fill in the blank with something from your list.) # selfdiscipline # livingyourbestlife # lovingyourlife # happiness # workhard # besuccessful
