Some firsts for the year!

There've been 5 days in January.  Here are my firsts so far.

1st week going to the gym this year.
1st week being irritated with my husband. We're usually pretty good, but human. And, he can be pretty irritating. =)
1st massage of the year. Yeah!! Love bi-weekly massages.
1st week in my new office. Loving it more than I expected.
1st week of working on my goals for 2018 in which Deb & I have started working with Lara Casey.
1st child of mine's birthday of the year (Happy 23rd Birthday Caitlin - today!)
1st time I watched my son, Andrew, open his Christmas and Birthday presents via face time while he's in New Zealand (He has always been home for Christmas.)
1st Friday of the year (TGIF!)

That's all I can think of for now. Hope everyone has a great weekend!

The Ins and Outs of Networking

I thought I'd talk about networking for those who are just starting out in their networking journey. And maybe, just maybe, someone who's a pro, will learn something or get a new idea. When you start out on your journey of networking, you're not sure what you're going to find. If you're like me, you're a little intimidated by everyone. They all seem so put together, so confident. It feels like everyone knows everyone else and you don't know anyone! You might sit there thinking "What the heck am I doing here?" But guess what? What you're feeling is 100% normal. And guess what else? We all felt the same way when we started networking. Because I'm one of those people who remembers feeling that way, I make it a point to go out of my way to talk to newbies, show them around, introduce them to others, give them networking advice. It's really ok to take a break

Sometimes when you're not motivated it's because your literraly burnt out. And that's ok. When you've been doing too much for too long, it's ok to take a break. However, before you start that break, write down some of the things you're going to do after the break.. This helps to keep the things you want to do at the top of your mind without feeling guilty that you're taking a break. So what do I mean by taking a break? It can be ... in any form you desire and/or can afford. We'd all love our break to be a long vacation to someplace we really want to go, but it can be as simple as taking a walk or even spending an entire weekend binge-watching your favorite shows. Just make sure it's a plan and that you know when you've had you're break, you're going to start on that "thing" you've been putting off. MW Copyright 2017
