2016 Resolution to blog...

Hi All,

My name is Marie White and I am planning to write a blog for the next year to see what happens. Will I get followers? Will I have things to say? Will I keep up with it? How will it change my life in the next 12 months?

I am super excited to see what the next year brings. This past year has brought about many changes, all positive. The biggest and best change was my job. I had worked at the same company for many years, but over time, the environment had just gotten toxic and taken a toll on me mentally and physically. I love what I do on a whole, but I needed to be around positive people who were on the same page that I am and who valued me. I was blessed to find that at Brock-Norton Insurance. I'm in my third month here and love it more each day. I am so happy and at peace, loving life more every day.

In my personal life. I've been married for 6 1/2 years to the love of my life. We have 5 children between us. He has a 26 year old son: Zakk, my kids are: son, Andrew - 28, son - Justin, 27, daughter - Cera, 25, and daughter - Caitlin, 20.

Life has it's ups and downs. Thankfully, I think I used up most of my downs in the past! Knock on wood!

2016 Here we come....... My goal is 2-4 x per month minimum. My topics may vary. I will definitely talk about insurance & answer insurance related questions. However, I will talk about general things going on in my world. Wish me luck in keeping up with this.

It's really ok to take a break

Sometimes when you're not motivated it's because your literraly burnt out. And that's ok. When you've been doing too much for too long, it's ok to take a break. However, before you start that break, write down some of the things you're going to do after the break.. This helps to keep the things you want to do at the top of your mind without feeling guilty that you're taking a break. So what do I mean by taking a break? It can be ... in any form you desire and/or can afford. We'd all love our break to be a long vacation to someplace we really want to go, but it can be as simple as taking a walk or even spending an entire weekend binge-watching your favorite shows. Just make sure it's a plan and that you know when you've had you're break, you're going to start on that "thing" you've been putting off. MW Copyright 2017

Re-evaluating Social Media in my life

What is the purpose of social media in your life? This is the question I've been pondering for a while now. What do each of these outlets bring to me, give to me, or help me with? Facebook Twitter Instagram Snap Chat Pinterest  LinkedIn Alignable  So many people say they're using social media for their business, while others say you have to be using social media for your business. I believe that's true in some businesses - especially if you're selling a product like t shirts, jewelry, weight loss plans, or other tangible items. But, I'm not sure which really help in the service and intangible industries. With that said, I'm an insurance agent. I sell a piece of paper that gives you piece of mind and aggravation because you are obligated to buy it. Is anyone really interested in reading blogs or articles about insurance? Even insurance humor is mainly funny to insurance people. So where does that leave me with my posts? I have used it in a mostly pers...

There are only 24 hours in a day!

I've learned that I can only do so much. My business is booming, my marriage is flourishing, my personal health and fitness goals are in tip-top shape, but there is so much more going on in life. Spending time with family, spending time with friends, working on projects inside and outside of the house. Life gets completely crazy at times and it feels like the list of things to do, places to be, people to see never ends. The result: some things get put on the back burner. Like blogging. It's something I do to keep track of what I'm doing, where I am on my goals, and hopefully to motivate a few people at the same time. Here's where I'm at; Business: I am still out there networking, I have made so many new friends and am building great relationships.  I am still working on single-tasking. I KNOW that it's the key to getting things done for me. However, I still have my days where I am so busy that I lapse back into my habit of multi-tasking. I do realiz...
