2016 Resolution to blog...

Hi All,

My name is Marie White and I am planning to write a blog for the next year to see what happens. Will I get followers? Will I have things to say? Will I keep up with it? How will it change my life in the next 12 months?

I am super excited to see what the next year brings. This past year has brought about many changes, all positive. The biggest and best change was my job. I had worked at the same company for many years, but over time, the environment had just gotten toxic and taken a toll on me mentally and physically. I love what I do on a whole, but I needed to be around positive people who were on the same page that I am and who valued me. I was blessed to find that at Brock-Norton Insurance. I'm in my third month here and love it more each day. I am so happy and at peace, loving life more every day.

In my personal life. I've been married for 6 1/2 years to the love of my life. We have 5 children between us. He has a 26 year old son: Zakk, my kids are: son, Andrew - 28, son - Justin, 27, daughter - Cera, 25, and daughter - Caitlin, 20.

Life has it's ups and downs. Thankfully, I think I used up most of my downs in the past! Knock on wood!

2016 Here we come....... My goal is 2-4 x per month minimum. My topics may vary. I will definitely talk about insurance & answer insurance related questions. However, I will talk about general things going on in my world. Wish me luck in keeping up with this.

The Ins and Outs of Networking

I thought I'd talk about networking for those who are just starting out in their networking journey. And maybe, just maybe, someone who's a pro, will learn something or get a new idea. When you start out on your journey of networking, you're not sure what you're going to find. If you're like me, you're a little intimidated by everyone. They all seem so put together, so confident. It feels like everyone knows everyone else and you don't know anyone! You might sit there thinking "What the heck am I doing here?" But guess what? What you're feeling is 100% normal. And guess what else? We all felt the same way when we started networking. Building Self-Discipline; Step 1

So how do we build self-discipline? First we figure out where we need self-discipline in our life. What are the areas in your life that you are struggling with? These are usually things you want to do, but for some reason you don't do them. Here are some ideas. Exercising, cooking meals, laundry, networking, de-cluttering, organizing your desk at work, yoga, meditation... the list could go on and on. Think about your list for a minute. Now, write down 2 or 3 things that you know you want to do, but keep putting off. These are things that you know would make an impact in your life.
