My old office and new office pictures (not quite before and after)

This was my former office. For some reason I didn't think to take a before picture of my new office until the first coat of paint was on the walls. However, the color matched this one. It's sort of a pinkish-mauve color in my opinion, but all the men seem to think it's a brownish color - so I now call it taupe. Let's just say it wasn't my favorite color and I think being in an office you love is an important part of maximizing your productivity. (By the way, this is my new co-workers office now, though he's already making his own changes to it. I took this picture after I had moved all of my things out and before he moved in.)

And Ta-Da... my new office after we painted and hung pictures.
I'm thinking I will eventually replace that gold framed mirror with one I like better or maybe I'll paint it black.

Now my office is almost double the size of what you can see in these pictures - but the other side currently has some boxes and things that are being picked up this week. I also haven't decided what I'm going to hang on the wall on that side. And... there's a closet/cubby hole that we opted to put curtains over, rather than try to get the file cabinet (same size as the file cabinet you can see above) out of there to paint. So there is still some work to be done, but the main part is done and my office is once again functional. I'm very thankful to my husband for all of his hard work this weekend! I couldn't have gotten everything done without him!

Having an office I love makes me feel fantastic & I think the colors I picked worked perfectly. Feng Shui experts says that white and cream colors are excellent colors for your office because they represent the metal element which supports mental clarity. I also read somewhere that the color blue helps your creativity. With that being said, both of those elements should help me with my 2016 year of organization.

I hope you enjoyed seeing my office. I'd love to hear your feedback and see pictures of your office as well.

There are only 24 hours in a day!

I've learned that I can only do so much. My business is booming, my marriage is flourishing, my personal health and fitness goals are in tip-top shape, but there is so much more going on in life. Spending time with family, spending time with friends, working on projects inside and outside of the house. Life gets completely crazy at times and it feels like the list of things to do, places to be, people to see never ends. The result: some things get put on the back burner. Like blogging. It's something I do to keep track of what I'm doing, where I am on my goals, and hopefully to motivate a few people at the same time. Here's where I'm at; Business: I am still out there networking, I have made so many new friends and am building great relationships.  I am still working on single-tasking. I KNOW that it's the key to getting things done for me. However, I still have my days where I am so busy that I lapse back into my habit of multi-tasking. I do realiz...

The Ins and Outs of Networking

I thought I'd talk about networking for those who are just starting out in their networking journey. And maybe, just maybe, someone who's a pro, will learn something or get a new idea. When you start out on your journey of networking, you're not sure what you're going to find. If you're like me, you're a little intimidated by everyone. They all seem so put together, so confident. It feels like everyone knows everyone else and you don't know anyone! You might sit there thinking "What the heck am I doing here?" But guess what? What you're feeling is 100% normal. And guess what else? We all felt the same way when we started networking. Because I'm one of those people who remembers feeling that way, I make it a point to go out of my way to talk to newbies, show them around, introduce them to others, give them networking advice. It's funny because the very first networking group I ever attended is the one that I'm currently the ...
